LHU Family Day 2024

The Labour Union of Lac Hong University (LHU) hosted its annual LHU Family Day 2024 on the morning of January 7, 2025, at Tran Bien Meeting Hall. This much-anticipated event, aimed at fostering unity and enhancing the well-being of educators and staff, brought together 230 participants in a vibrant celebration filled with meaningful activities.

A Day of Unity and Tradition

The event was organized with a mission to nurture the spirit of togetherness among LHU educators and staff while promoting cultural heritage and sustainability. Key highlights of the day included:

• Traditional Culinary Competitions: The Tet Cake and Jam Making Contest featured 14 teams showcasing their culinary skills, celebrating Vietnamese traditions while fostering collaboration among participants.

• 

  The Tet Space Decoration Contest and Tet Market Fair: A lot of competitive groups competed in creating immersive Tet holiday spaces, celebrating the spirit of the Lunar New Year.

• Support for Staff in Need: Demonstrating compassion and social responsibility, the union distributed 30 Tet gift packages to staff members facing challenging circumstances.

• Appreciation and Recognition: Special awards were presented to acknowledge outstanding contributions to student recruitment efforts in 2024.

• Cultural Games and Networking: The day featured a vibrant array of traditional games such as bau cua, co tuong, and co vua, fostering camaraderie and joy among attendees.

• Year-End Luncheon: Participants enjoyed a heartfelt year-end meal, reflecting the unity and mutual appreciation within the university community.

• 

• LHU Family Day aligns closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG8 (Decent work and economic growth) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). By addressing the well-being of staff and promoting community engagement, the event demonstrated the university’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and inclusive culture.

  Moreover, the competitions and activities emphasized cultural preservation and sustainable practices—values essential to building resilient communities. The initiative to provide support to staff in need further underscores the importance of inclusivity and equity, aligning with SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
