Looking back at the achievements of Lac Hong University in the “Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Entrepreneurship” competition, LHU is extremely proud of two projects by two LHU alumni: Van Huong Herbal Clean Incense by Ms. Le Thi Cam Van – alumna of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, which won First Prize in the 2021 Women’s Entrepreneurship Ideas/Projects Competition; and the An Hoa Cao An Xoa project by Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Anh – alumna of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology – which won First Prize in the 2020 Women’s Entrepreneurship Ideas/Projects Competition. To achieve these accomplishments, Lac Hong University has played a significant role, as both projects were guided by the University’s Startup Division and Startup Club, serving as advisors to the projects from the initial idea formation stage through business planning and profit generation, contributing to the national as well as provincial economy.

It is known that the competition is not only open to cooperatives, cooperative groups, collaborative groups, and registered business households owned or managed by women, but also to authors who have not yet registered a business. Unregistered authors include women with startup ideas/projects that have rapid growth potential based on intellectual capacity, technology, or new business models; disadvantaged women (with disabilities, affected by HIV/AIDS, reintegrated into the community, etc.); and individuals (or groups) of students currently studying at educational institutions within the province.

Participants may register either individually or in teams (each team consisting of no more than three contestants; men may participate, but the team leader must be a woman). The Organizing Committee also encourages contestants/teams who have previously submitted ideas/projects in earlier competitions but did not win First, Second, or Third Prize, and whose ideas/projects have since been upgraded and further refined, to participate again.

The ideas/projects submitted to the competition are startup or innovative entrepreneurship ideas/projects in all fields. Priority will be given to projects applying science and technology, promoting sustainable development, and creating employment for women, and that may develop products participating in the “One Commune, One Product” program.

The submission period runs from now until 15 June 2022. Women’s Union members shall submit their entries to the Women’s Union of their respective districts or cities; independent contestants shall submit entries to the Dong Nai Provincial Women’s Union (No. 9, Vo Thi Sau Street, Quyet Thang Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province) and send the file via email to: gdxhktpndnai@gmail.com.

It is expected that the preliminary round will take place in June, and the semi-final and final ranking rounds will be held in July 2022.
