In order to help administrators, lecturers, and staff avoid violations of the Personal Income Tax Law, and to address questions related to the Personal Income Tax Law, the Economic Law major under FAIE coordinated with the Administration & Personnel Office (APO) to organize a training session on the implementation of the Personal Income Tax Law for the University’s leadership, lecturers, and staff.
The training session took place on 10 January 2023 at Room A301 – Campus 1 – Lac Hong University.

Mr. Le Manh Cuong – Alumnus, Dong Nai Provincial Tax Department;
Ms. Tran Thi My Huong – Head of Office of Finance (OoF).

Associate Professor PhD Nguyen Vu Quynh – Vice President of the University;
Associate Professor PhD Nguyen Thanh Lam – Vice President of the University;
PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of FAIE;
MB Ta Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Dean of FAIE;
PhD Tran Hoang Minh – Head of Administration & Personnel Office (APO);
and more than 50 administrators, lecturers, and staff members of the University attended the training session.
At the training session, MB Vo Anh Phuc introduced Personal Income Tax, explained tax-related concepts to help lecturers and staff gain a clearer understanding, and emphasized the responsibility and obligation of every citizen to pay taxes.
What is Personal Income Tax? Why is it necessary to pay Personal Income Tax?
Paying taxes has always been regarded as an obligation of every citizen within the territory of Vietnam. Contributions from personal income increase state revenue and ensure social equity.
Being subject to Personal Income Tax means that an individual’s actual income exceeds the taxable threshold set by the State. Therefore, even after tax exemptions and family circumstance deductions, employees are still able to support themselves and their families.
Paying Personal Income Tax contributes to narrowing social disparities between different income groups.
Paying Personal Income Tax promotes national economic growth, creates more employment opportunities for workers, and ensures better living conditions for disadvantaged groups through welfare policies.

Mr. Le Manh Cuong further shared common violations in tax payment, as well as issues that individuals need to clearly understand and comply with in accordance with the State’s regulations and timelines on Personal Income Tax. Questions and difficulties raised by lecturers of Lac Hong University were addressed thoroughly and clearly. Finalization of Personal Income Tax can be conducted either by individuals themselves or authorized to the income-paying organization.
In cases where individuals have taxable income but are not eligible to authorize tax finalization to the income-paying organization, they must directly finalize their tax with the tax authority.
Individuals may finalize Personal Income Tax online for income from various sources by accessing the General Department of Taxation’s electronic portal at: https://canhan.gdt.gov.vn/.
In addition to the two main guest speakers at the training session, the presence of Ms. Tran Thi My Huong – Head of Office of Finance (OoF) also helped lecturers better understand the University’s regulations and the authorization procedures related to tax obligations for income associated with the University.
