Second-Year Students of Tourism and Travel Management Participate in Practical Learning through a Mekong Delta Study Tour.

In order to meet employer requirements, in addition to classroom learning, FAIE consistently creates opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge and skills through competitions, specialized club activities, and especially through field trips and practical study tours. Through these methods, students gain deeper and more extensive exposure to practical knowledge, shorten the gap between theory and practice, and ensure the learning outcomes of new graduates, thereby helping employers avoid the need to retrain candidates.

Recognizing societal demand for the Tourism and Travel Management major, FAIE has offered this programme since 2019. Through annual evaluations of the training programme and learning outcomes, incorporating contributions from experts, enterprises, and alumni, the Tourism and Travel Management major has recently strengthened practical learning activities through short study tours to various regions across the country.

During a 2-day, 1-night trip from 11 to 12 March 2023 to provinces in the Mekong Delta region, students visited Vinh Trang Pagoda, the islets of Long, Lan, Quy, and Phung, experienced Southern amateur music (Don Ca Tai Tu), Cai Rang Floating Market, Mui Ca Mau, Tac Say Church, and the Bac Lieu Prince’s House. Although the duration was short, students learned how to organize tours, became familiar with numerous tourist attractions and regional characteristics, and practiced delivering tour commentaries for different routes and destinations.

Through such practical activities, FAIE is gradually narrowing the gap between academic knowledge and real-world professional practice. Particularly in the current context, travel companies are in strong demand for human resources in the tourism sector. This learning environment at FAIE enables students to continuously enhance their competencies and meet the increasingly high expectations of employers.
